Cooking activities

Cooking is a valuable life skill that helps kids to develop their independence.  Cooking activities are a great way for kids to express themselves and enjoy their creations.  Cooking together is a great way to have fun and share materials. Working in the kitchen can also lead to important discussions about health and safety, which should always be addressed before cooking with kids.

Easter Nests
Brilliant to make with little children over the holidays, these easy chocolate crispy cakes are a perennial favourite.
With just three ingredients, these chocolate treats are quick and easy to make -

Ingredients

 plain chocolate, broken into piece
Cornflakes
chocolate eggs or jelly beans

  1. Break the chocolate into pieces and melt in a microwave or on a low heat, stirring every 30 seconds
  2. Remove the bowl from the heat and gently stir in the cornflakes until all of the cereal is coated in the chocolate.
  3. Divide the mixture between the paper cases and press 3 chocolate eggs or jelly beans into the centre of each nest. Chill in the fridge for 1 hour, or until completely set.

Strawberry jelly

To reinforce the colour red we did the strawberry jelly! We even introduced the children the change in properties of water from liquid to solid!!!

Green pea pastries
As we are doing the colour green we cooked peas to reinforce the colour . During this activities we even managed to reinforce fine motor skills while children are handling the spoon.

Hope you loved them as we did :)
Blue coconut balls
By doing blue coconut balls children learnt how to rub their hands to make a ball.We did blue coconut balls to reinforce the colour blue. Enjoy :)

Halloween sandwiches

we spread marmalade or soft cheese on each bread  than each child choose their halloween cut outs to cut their bread.
we made Cats, ghost, pumpkins and bats
